Mayor Mark Larson called to order the January 5, 2026, City Council Meeting in the Argyle Council Chambers at 7:00 PM. Members present were Mark Larson, David Gunderson, Zachary Beaudry, Penni Anderson and Aaron Rivard. Also in attendance were Tamara Benitt and Michael Pagnac. Motion by Zach Beaudry, seconded by Aaron Rivard, to approve the minutes of the previous meeting. Motion carried.
Motion by Aaron Rivard, seconded by Zach Beaudry, to approve the Garbage Collection Contract for 2026 & 2027 with Northern Sanitation. Motion carried.
Motion by Aaron Rivard, seconded by Penni Anderson, to approve the Maintenance Report. Motion carried.
On a motion by Aaron Rivard, The City Council of Argyle, Minnesota ordains: Ordinance No. 01-2026, Utility Service Connection, David Gunderson seconded. Motion carried. This ordinance shall take effect upon publication in the Messenger.
On a motion by Zach Beaudry, seconded by Penni Anderson, Resolution 01-2026 – Approve Annual Designations, Appointments, and Fee Schedule for 2026 was approved. Motion carried.
On a motion by David Gunderson, seconded by Aaron Rivard, Resolution 02-2026 – Approve 2026 Utility Rates and Natural Gas Rebates was approved. Motion carried.
On a motion by David Gunderson, seconded by Aaron Rivard, Resolution – 03-2026 – Monetary Limits on Municipal Tort Liability. Motion carried.
Building Permits: Jason Yutrzenka – bathroom remodel. Motion by Aaron Rivard, seconded by Penni Anderson, to approve the building permit. Motion carried.
The City Office and City Shop will be closed on Monday, January 19th, in Observance of Martin Luther King Day.
MN Paid Leave premium rate for 2026 is 0.66% since the City of Argyle is qualified as a small employer. The employee and employer will each pay 0.33%.
Local Board Of Appeal online course deadline is February 1st, if anyone is interested in becoming certified. David Gunderson is certified until 2027.
Motion by David Gunderson, seconded by Zach Beaudry, to approve the quote from Thief River Glass for an aluminum commercial door and installation for the City Office. Motion carried.
Motion by Aaron Rivard, second by Zach Beaudry, to approve the bills presented for payment, the Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, delinquent accounts and vacation & sick leave. Motion carried.

Argyle offers a yearly garbage pickup fee. $100 per 35-gallon garbage can. Stop by the City Office to purchase your yearly sticker.
Waste Management recycling tote pickup will be on February 11, 2026.
