JUNE 2026

Mayor Mark Larson called to order the June 1, 2026, City Council meeting in the Argyle City Council Chambers at 7:00 PM. Members present were David Gunderson, Penni Anderson, Zachary Beaudry, Mark Larson, and Aaron Rivard. Also in attendance were Adam Gast, Tony Deschene, William Grier, Keith Bergeron, Michael Pagnac, Mason Mock, and Tamara Benitt. Motion by David Gunderson, seconded by Aaron Rivard, to approve the minutes of the previous meeting. Motion carried.

Residents stated their concerns with the condition of the yards located on the Lincoln Avenue project. The engineers will be informed of these issues.

Mayor Mark Larson opened the sealed bids for the Fire Hall. Motion by Zachary Beaudry, seconded by Aaron Rivard, to award the bids to the following: Erickson’s Up North Plumbing & Heating, Argyle Builders Supply, Rogus Construction, Arctic Spray Foam & Insulation, Sorenson Construction, and Deschene Electrical Solutions. Motion carried.

Motion by Zach Beaudry, seconded by Aaron Rivard, to hire Apex Engineering to design a water infrastructure expansion and water main to Fire Hall. Motion carried.

Adam Gast, Marshall County Sheriff Candidate, introduced himself to the Council. He is striving for more community involvement within the department. Adam Gast then left the meeting.

Keith Bergeron informed the Council that people are walking and driving through the Lynn Swanson Memorial at the baseball field. The Council decided to install two “No Parking” signs and paint the curb yellow from the East of the sidewalk to Highway 75. In order to deter bikes and golf carts, we encourage all spectators to use the access by the grandstand and avoid using the entrance at the Memorial.

Motion by Penni Anderson, seconded by David Gunderson, to approve the payment of $31,682.96 to NPL Construction for gas valve replacement. Motion carried.

Motion by Zach Beaudry, seconded by Aaron Rivard, to purchase a new pH NDO meter. Motion carried.

Motion by Penni Anderson, seconded by David Gunderson, to approve the Maintenance Report. Motion carried.

On a motion by Zach Beaudry, seconded by Aaron Rivard, RESOLUTION 08-2026-Approve Temporary Community Festival Liquor License – Argyle American Legion and RESOLUTION 09-2026-Approve Temporary Community Festival Liquor License – The Dell Steakhouse & Lounge LLC were approved. Motion carried.

On a motion by Penni Anderson, seconded by Aaron Rivard, RESOLUTION 10-2026-Accept All Donations to Argyle Fire Department and RESOLUTION 11-2026-Accept All Donations to City of Argyle were approved. Motion carried.

Motion by Aaron Rivard, seconded by Zach Beaudry, to approve the following building permits: Argyle Homes – sidewalk repair and Tony Deschene – furnace. Motion carried.

Motion by Aaron Rivard, seconded by Penni Anderson, to approve members of the Community Club as volunteers of the City of Argyle for Meet Your Neighbor Day. Motion carried.

Motion by Aaron Rivard, seconded by Zach Beaudry, to approve the hiring of Keith Abrahamson as the Summer Rec Bus Driver at $31.00/hour. Motion carried.

Motion by Zach Beaudry, seconded by Aaron Rivard, to approve the hiring of Heidi Carlson for the Monday-Friday seasonal flower waterer at $500/month for the months of June/July/August. Motion carried.

City Office and City Shop will be closed on Friday, June 19th, Juneteenth and July 3rd in observance of Independence Day.

On a motion by Penni Anderson, seconded by David Gunderson, to ordain ORDINANCE NO. 02-2026 – An ordinance relating to drainage in sanitary sewer system. Motion carried.

Motion by David Gunderson, second by Zach Beaudry, to approve the bills presented for payment, the Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, delinquent accounts and vacation & sick leave. Motion carried.

Being no further business, motion by Zach Beaudry, second by Aaron Rivard, to adjourn. Motion carried.

REMINDER: Waste Management recycling tote pickup will be on July 15, 2026.

CURBSIDE COMPOST PICKUP ON MONDAYS – SPRING thru FALL

After getting your weekend yard work done, haul garden and yard waste (trees, branches, leaves, etc.) to your berm and the City Crew will pick up on Monday. All smaller clippings must be bagged or in a can.

1/2 Truckload – $30   Full Truckload – $50  Anything smaller is free of charge

Dumpster Rentals are available through the City Office. Please call 218-437-6621 to get a list of acceptable items and to schedule a date. Cost $45.00 + tax

NOTICE: Please do not ride bikes or drive golf carts on the Lynn Swanson Memorial at the Baseball Field.

There is access to drive by the grandstand. There will be NO PARKING zone from the Memorial to Highway 75.
