Mayor Larson called to order the Board of Appeal and Equalization meeting on May 4, 2026, at 6:00 PM in the Council Chambers. The members present were David Gunderson, Mark Larson, Aaron Rivard, Penni Anderson and Zach Beaudry. Attending from the Marshall County Assessor’s Office were Ryan Larson and Matt Vongroven. Also Present was Tamara Benitt. Ryan Larson and Tamara Benitt informed the Council that they did not receive anu appeals. No one from the public attended to present any appeals. Motion by David Gunderson, second by Aaron Rivard, to close the Board of Appeal & Equalization meeting. Motion carried.

Members present were David Gunderson, Penni Anderson, Zachary Beaudry, Mark Larson, and Aaron Rivard. Also in attendance was Tamara Benitt. Stephen-Argyle Central students attending were Bralicia Thomas, Aubrey Rivard, Jocie Groven, Lexi LaBine, Ayla Woinarowicz, and Ava Sustad. Motion by David Gunderson, seconded by Aaron Rivard, to approve the minutes of the previous meeting. Motion carried.
Motion by Aaron Rivard, seconded by Penni Anderson, to approve ordering from Big Jim’s E-Side Tire quote of $9,888.35 for installation of new loader tires in the Fall. Motion carried.
Motion by Aaron Rivard, seconded by Zachary Beaudry, to approve David Sorenson to remove the current tar on Dewey Street, allow Agassiz Asphalt to pour new tar, and the City paying for $5100.00. Motion carried. Motion by Aaron Rivard, seconded by David Gunderson, to approve Agassiz Asphalt bid of $100,315.00 for tar patches throughout town. Motion carried.
Motion by David Gunderson, seconded by Penni Anderson, approved spending $5000.00 on gate valve replacement starting around the City Hall block area. Motion carried.
We did not receive any applications for seasonal waterer. The City Crew will water them daily, so whoever is on weekend duty will water those days. Motion by Zach Beaudry, seconded by Aaron Rivard, to approve the additional one and half hours daily it takes to water flowers on the weekend. Motion carried.

Motion by David Gunderson, seconded by Aaron Rivard, to approve Apex Engineering submitting the IUP request for Lead Service Line Replacement. Motion carried.
Motion by Aaron Rivard, seconded by Zach Beaudry, to adopt RESOLUTION 06-2026 to appoint Election Judges – Tamara Benitt, Karen Gunderson, and Lisa Larson. Motion carried.
Motion by Aaron Rivard, seconded by Zach Beaudry, to adopt RESOLUTION 07-2026 designating the Community Center as Argyle’s Annual Polling Place. Motion carried.
Motion by Aaron Rivard, seconded by David Gunderson, to approve the following building permits: Pam Hesse – new furnace/ac and replace tub surround, Travis & Penni Anderson – new windows, Cecil Deschene – roof/siding/windows/doors/electrical/sheetrock, and Zach Beaudry – grain bins and dryer. Motion carried.
Motion by Aaron Rivard, second by Penni Anderson, to acknowledge and approve excluded bingo activity for St. Rose Church during their bazaar on October 25, 2026, at the Community Center. Motion carried.
MnDOT has a project starting in May through June for a culvert replacement one mile south of Argyle on Highway 75. Motorists can expect a detour to County Road 19, County Road 108, then County Road 4. Property owners will have access to their homes and businesses during construction.
The City Office and City Shop will be closed Monday, May 25th, Memorial Day.

All smaller clippings must be bagged or in a can. 1/2 truckload – $30 Full truckload – $50 Anything smaller is free of charge.
