Mayor Mark Larson called to order the April 6, 2026, City Council Meeting in the Argyle Council Chambers at 7:00 PM. Members present were David Gunderson, Zachary Beaudry, Mark Larson, and Aaron Rivard. Absent was Penni Anderson. Also in attendance were Tamara Benitt and Michael Pagnac. Sara Niemela with Brady, Martz presented via telephone.
Motion by David Gunderson, seconded by Aaron Rivard, to approve the minutes of the previous meeting. Motion carried.
Sara Niemela, our Auditor Manager with Brady Martz, reviewed the 2025 Audit via telephone.
Fire Chief Eric Magnusson arrived at the meeting. Eric Magnusson reviewed the estimates for the construction of the new 154′ x 60′ & 9′ walls Fire Hall. Public Hearing will be set for intent to issue General Obligation bonds and proposal to adopt a capital improvement plan.
Motion by Aaron Rivard, seconded by Zachary Beaudry, to sign the contract with Marshall County to have them apply calcium chloride on all map locations. Motion carried.
Motion by David Gunderson, seconded by Aaron Rivard, to approve the ordering and installation of safety gates at all lift stations through Municipal Services. Motion carried.
Motion by Zach Beaudry, seconded by Aaron Rivard, to approve the Maintenance Report. Motion carried.
There were no applicants for the seasonal watering position. This position will be advertised for another month. $1,500/Season.
The Council decided to not hire a summer worker this year due to having a full crew.
Motion by Aaron Rivard, seconded by Zach Beaudry, to hire Anders Thompson for Summer Rec Director/Head Coach and Samuel Durand and Liam Kasprowicz as Assistant Coaches, and Sherry Donarski as bus driver. Motion carried.
The Council will table the review of vacation/sick time policy until May meeting.
Building permits: Dillon Erickson – Adding 2nd story on part of house & reside house, Robert Clausen – Kitchen, and Argyle Homes – replacing carpet. Motion by Aaron Rivard, seconded by David Gunderson, to approve the building permits. Motion carried.
Motion by Zach Beaudry, seconded by Aaron Rivard, to hire Erik Aakre to build and launch the new website and to maintain monthly. Motion approved.
Cold Weather Rule is no longer in effect as of April 30, 2026.
Motion by Aaron Rivard, second by David Gunderson, to approve the bills presented for payment, the Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, delinquent accounts and vacation & sick leave. Motion carried.

Reminder Waste Management recycling tote pickup will be on May 13, 2026.
City Office & City Shop Hours: Monday – Thursday, 7:00 am – 4:30 pm, and Friday, 7:00 am – 11:00 am.
Utility payments can be made with a credit card or stop by the city office to sign up for ACH (automatic withdrawal).
FYI: Starting this Spring, the City Crew will be trimming trees along the boulevard that effects snow removal equipment and the street sweeper. Thank You for understanding!!
