The SAC Elementary has established a mission of “Education Excellence, Technology Exploration, and Global Understanding for Tomorrow’s World Today.”  This mission is supported by the following vision statements of achievement for all of our students:

  • Students will strive to reach their potential of academic and social excellence.
  • Students will demonstrate personal accountability.
  • Parents will be responsible to set high expectations and provide structure and guidance to maximize student potential.
  • Parents will be accountable for involvement and communication in their child’s educational and social growth.
  • Staff will strive to meet individual needs by individualizing instruction.
  • Staff will provide a challenging and stimulating curriculum that sets high expectations for all students.
  • Community support is vital to students and school success.
  • Community and school partnerships are priority relations.

This mission and vision creates the foundation for educational experience that prepares our elementary students for secondary educational challenges.  The small school atmosphere creates opportunities for individual growth.  Our elementary currently houses 168 students in grades Preschool-6th.  SAC features a professional staff that focuses on technology integration, 21st century curriculum, and the development of each individual student.

SAC Elementary has made a commitment to the integration of technology into students’ daily learning.  Students have access to mobile technology by using laptop computers, I-Pods, NEO 2, and I-Pads.  Students are immersed with technology in the classroom by staff using SMART Boards to deliver instruction.

In addition, we are focused on our earliest learners by committing to a comprehensive Pre-School program, All Day Every Day Kindergarten, and Early Childhood Family Education program.

SAC offers a diverse amount of support programs for all of our learners:

  • Title I / Response to Intervention / English as a Second Language

Have you heard how the education experience for the young children is so much better today than it was 30 to 40 years ago? Well, in Argyle they have the best.
The Preschool program in Argyle is housed in a recently remodeled section of the Argyle school building in the northwest sector of the school site.  This facility is state-of-art, with a playful, pleasant learning area decorated with a variety of bright, stimulating colors.
Two School Readiness teachers and an aide keep the children in an orderly, secure environment with a big emphasis on nuturing.  There is a lot of attention given to detail as providing for special needs children and the placement of child-sized accomodations such as sinks and toilets.

SAC High School is comprised of grades 7-12.  A comprehensive education program is offered for all learners.  Students are provided course offerings that provide for the development of a well-rounded individual and preparation for the challenges of the future.  The Jr. & Sr. High cirriculum is modeled for academic achievement and exploration.  College in the High School classes (12 CIHS Classes are available for up to 43 college credits), career and technical opportunities, and a challenging general curriculum are some of the academic opportunities availble for student achievement.  The curriculum is also supported by Interactive Television and on-line learning options to enhance student opportunities.  Recently renovated science, technology, and library facilities highlight an excellent small school learning facility.  Our experienced faculty members maintain high standards in the rigor of their instruction and also in their expectations or appropriate student behavior.  Our students consistently score above average on state and national assessments.  A reflection of the high value our communities place on education is the fact that over 70% of our graduates move on to four year colleges and universities to continue their education after high school.

CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES – Stephen/Argyle Central Junior/Senior High School has a long tradition of excellence in the Arts, Academics, & Athletics.   The variety of offering of arts and athletics is reflected by the high level of student participation, with over 85% of our student body participating in extra-curricular or co-curricular activities.  Activities include: Robotics, Envirothon, Student Council, Knowledge Bowl, National Honor Society, JETS, River Watch, One Act Play, Muscial Theater, Yearbook, Vocal and Instrumental competitions in ensembles, solos and large group.  Competitive athletic opportunities include: volleyball, football, cross country, basketball, golf and track and field, baseball, wrestling, and softball.

Stephen/Argyle Central Education Foundation Established

The Stephen/Argyle Central Education Foundation is being established to provide opportunities for our graduates in education, business, and industry.  The SAC Education Foundation believes that a solid partnership among current students, past graduates, community members, local businesses, and other members of the Stephen/Argyle School family is vital to provide a high quality educational experience that prepares our graduates for life.  The goals of the Stephen/Argyle Central Education Foundation are:

  • To help sponsor the educational opportunities for SAC graduates and current students
  • To develop a network of communication between past Argyle, Stephen, and Stephen/Argyle Central graduates
  • To aid the SAC graduates’ post-secondary transition
  • To provide our students with opportunities in business and industry

One of the challenges of our newly formed SAC Education Foundation is getting contact information from our past graduates.  The Argyle High School and Stephen High School graduates are an important component to current success of Stephen/Argyle Central.  We feel it is important to establish an avenue of communication for past and current graduates.  To sign up, first go to our school website,, then select the SAC Education Foundation tab on the left side of the webpage.  There will be directions that will walk you through adding your name and the names of other interested parties, to our directory list.  The second thing you can do to help us build the SAC Education Foundation directory is to share this information with any and all interested people.  The Foundation is not just open to AHS, SHS, or SAC alumni.  Anyone that is passionate about education and improving the opportunities for the youth of our communities is more than welcome to become a member.

There is no cost or fee to become a member of the Stephen/Argyle Education Foundation.  Please take the time to register on the school website or call Stephen/Argyle Central at 218-478-3314 to become an active member of our foundation.
